Pre-orders and new releases

What a pre-order is

Some authors list a book before its release date. You can buy it now and it comes to you on release day: an ebook opens in your library, and a print copy goes to print and ships.

Spot a pre-order

• Book cards show a Pre-order label while the book has no reviews yet.
• The book page says "Pre-order" with the release date, just under the author's name.
• The homepage has a Coming Soon shelf, and the Coming Soon page lists every book you can pre-order.
• On a series page, a book that isn't out yet has a Pre-order ebook button and its release date.

When you pay

You pay for a pre-order at checkout, the same way as any other book. There is no second payment on release day. A pre-order can sit in the same order as books that are already out; those arrive straight away as usual.

When you get an ebook pre-order

Right after you pay, the ebook appears in My Library with Available and its release date. Your confirmation email also says the day it opens. On release day, the Read now button appears and the book opens in Oasis Reader.

When you get a print pre-order

A pre-ordered paperback or hardcover waits until release day, then goes to print and ships to the address you gave at checkout. Until then, it is listed under My Orders with the status Ships after release and the date. After that, it moves through the usual statuses, and we email you tracking when it ships. Pre-orders in a series

When you buy several ebooks from a series at once, any books that aren't out yet are included as pre-orders. The series box tells you, and those books arrive in your library on their release dates. The Series guide explains series purchases.

The New release label

A book shows a New release label during its first 30 days on sale on BooksOasis. The label sits where the star rating goes, while the book has no reviews yet. Once readers start reviewing it, the review count, and later the star average, take its place.

To see the newest books:

• The homepage opens with a New Releases shelf, newest first.
• The Browse page sorts by Newest unless you choose another order.

Reviews and pre-orders

Our review request email is never sent for a book that isn't out yet. Once it is released and you have had time to read it, you can review it like any other book you bought.
